  In Shirley there are a lot of Chinese take outs but I think this is the best for several reasons. If you love food then you'll understand this; no matter how good the service is, no matter how clean the place is, if the food tastes good then you remember it. That's exactly what I've found with fans. Personally I'd recommend the sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice and all the starters (they're all too nice to choose just one) although the other food such as their chow main dishes and vegetarian dishes aren't so bad either.
  In fact the only negative criticism I have about this place is that they don't do delivery and nowadays that seems like a big must for take away restaurants.
  The customer service here great, they are always very polite, friendly, actually remember you and get to know you (If you're a regular like me). For example I went in there the other day after being away for three years and faye, one of the owners, still remembered who I was!

  Lucky House is a typically basic, no frills Chinese/ Cantonese takeaway restaurant based on Stratford Road in Shirley, Solihull. Chinese takeaways seem to be the only type of cuisine that often don't do delivery, and Lucky House is no different, but don't let that put you off. The first great thing (and what initially caught my eye the first time I used them) about Lucky House is the price. Unlike the close by Fortune Inn, which has prices much more suited to its sit down restaurant status, Lucky House typically charges around £5 per main, which is a great price no matter where you compare it to. However, as many places have a pay off when it comes to cheap food, I was apprehensive at first, although these fears were quickly dispelled. I'm something on an expert when it comes to deep fried shredded beef, and I can safely say that Lucky House does the best I've ever eaten, to such an extent that I can never truly enjoy it from anywhere else. A great takeaway, and they've even got a nice fish tank to sit and stare at whilst you wait!

  I always get confused between which of the two takeaways to use as there are so many close to each other in the area. This is one of the ones I choose to use the most as the food always tastes nice and the waiting time is not too long.
